Tyler

Bass

Hey guys I'm Tyler, bassist at Starfire. I moved to the Phoenix area (Chandler, specifically) in March of this year, coming from Pensacola, FL, and immediately found this group of sonic champions.

Starfire brought the heat with some blazing riffs and I was hooked. Thankfully, they took me in (thanks guys!). It's pretty cool feeling the floor rumble beneath my feet and seeing you guys headbanging at our shows! A few of my favorite bands out there include Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Bullet for my Valentine & Mudvayne (Ryan Martinie is my favorite bass player, what a freakin' beast). It changes up from time to time though; occasionally I'll go on a country streak for like a week.

Weapon of choice is a Sterling by Music Man Sting Ray in georgous silverburst. First stop in the chain is a wireless receiver/tuner pedal from Shure. Then the trons go through a Darkglass Alpha Omega preamp. Front-of-house gets the DI out of the pedal and I send a 1/4" cable to my Orange Terror Bass amp head's effects loop return where it powers a custom-built 2x10" cabinet for some stage volume.

Like I said up top, I came from Pensacola, Florida where I separated from the Navy after 8+ years as a WSO riding the back seat of F/A-18F Super Hornets (and other planes) every day. What a ride that was. If ya got a half hour to kill, check out our cruise video here, it'll get ya going. There in Florida, I was also in a band called Serena's Fire. They're a great group of hard working dudes still going strong today... Go check them out on Facebook and Spotify!

Currently outside the band, I am working on getting my commercial pilot certificate through Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

Airplanes are cool. (airplane noises)

I also do photography for bands and artists here in the Phoenix area. Hit me up if you want some tasty pics!

Go buy the merch!
